As the West End State School P&C, we are committed to supporting a thriving, sustainable community for our students and families. Our advocacy work focuses on raising awareness and giving our school community a voice in local planning and development decisions that directly impact education, safety, and liveability in the West End–South Brisbane area.
Rapid urban growth continues to put pressure on local infrastructure — our schools are at or near capacity, green spaces are shrinking and traffic congestion is worsening. Two major proposed developments — the Visy Site Riverfront Redevelopment and the 33 Vulture Street Project — have raised serious community concerns about overcrowding and the lack of planning for additional social infrastructure such as schools, parks, and transport.
We encourage all community members to stay informed, get involved, and help ensure that future development supports a balanced, inclusive, and well-planned neighbourhood.
